The following PROWL guidelines will help students be successful in learning the concepts needed to be successful in Career and Technical Education courses.
P – Proud of Achieving
1. Follow all school policies and procedures as printed in your agenda and on ZGTMMS website.
(Reminder no cell phones in class unless in a BOYD Activity.)
2. Please be alert and engaged in learning during the class period. Do not put your head on desk or sleep.
3. Always strive to achieve success in all assignments given (ie. 90% or above)
R – Respect for Self, Others and Property
1. Be respectful and polite to teacher and other classmate.
2. Raise your hand to ask permission to speak. No talking without permission. Do not disrupt class. Please do not talk while others are talking.
3. Treat personal and school property and classroom areas with respect. Do not enter areas without permission ( ie. kitchen, shop, storage rooms, etc...)
4. Keep your workstations and learning lab clean and leave equipment the way you found it. Please push chairs back under desk as you leave the classroom.
O – Organizing for Success
1. Be prompt to class, be on time – if you are tardy, door will be closed, quietly open door, come in, close door and sign on tardy sheet and go to your seat and quickly begin assignment. (if you have a tardy pass please give to teacher quickly and quietly) TARDY POLICY 1st - Warning, 2nd – Parent Contact, 3rd – ICS electives only & Parent Contact, 4th – ICS all day & Parent Contact
2. Be prepared and bring all materials needed for class.
3. Be in your seat, ready to work when class begins.
W – Working for a Safe Environment
1. Keep your hands and feet to yourself. No horseplay.
2. Use all school equipment properly and follow all safety rules.
3. Please no gum, food or drink in the classroom.
4. Remain in your seats until class is dismissed unless you have permission to do otherwise.
L – Learning to Lead
1. Be responsible and lead by example.
2. Be productive and follow directions the first time they are given.
Grading
Student grades are earned by the students for completing and turning in assignments, completing module quizzes/assessments and participating in class discussions/activities/labs/projects which follow the competency goals and objectives for all CTE courses.
40% Tests/Quizzes
40% Projects/Labs/Major classroom assignments
20% Notebook/Current Events /Minor classroom assignments/ Homework
Make up Assignments
Students are responsible for all make up work. Failure to make up work missed or not completed will result in 0(zero) credit for the assignment. Students have 1 week to make up assignments to receive full credit.
